4 G Bows

Owner: Ben VanderLugt

Hello,  my name is Ben VanderLugt. As a mason by trade since 2000 my father has taught me not only the trades but the importance of what high quality work means as well as how every detail matters into a project. I keep that in mind with every project that I do. Along with being a mason I have also enjoyed the art of woodworking and fabricating that has given me the knowledge of how to work with multiple different materials. Since I was a young boy I have been involved in the sport of archery. Whether that be shooting arrows at a target for fun or going out hunting to provide for my family; Archery has always been a part of my life. In 1999 I started getting involved in the world of Traditional archery. The simplicity and craft that goes into using a traditional bow has sparked my curiosity with learning all that I can about what goes into making a traditional bow.

When a good friend of mine came to me and believed that I had what it takes to make a traditional bow. I was blessed to be given a Bingham Archery Kit as well as a heat box to make my first bow. That's when I fell in love with the process and the work that goes into making a beautiful practical weapon. With the help of my friends and family I was inspired to make more bows and create a little business that is runs right out of my own barn.

I have named this business 4G Bows after the four girls in my life; my wife and three daughters. Each bow design that I create is named after each one of them. With either the Jeanna, Kennedy, Olivia or Izzy bow you will find that each one is created with love and care as I have for each one of them.

“Take your bow and a quiver full of arrows, and go out into the open country to hunt some wild game for me” - Genesis 27:3
